Gift Box!

6 Dec

Today I am going to show you how to create this gift box using Winter Woodland and Cricut Design Studio!  If you don’t have Cricut Design Studio, you can follow the manual instructions for the box as well!

This box is perfect for Copic Markers and a small stamp set and it also work wonderfully for many other uses like:
  • Holding a pack of pencils and sticky notes for Teacher gifts
  • Ziploc baggy of marshmallows and hot cocoa packets
  • Full sized candy bar and a special note
  • Rolled up drawing or note from the kids with a special photo to the side
  • Plus many more!
You can download the Cricut Design Studio File HERE
The file has three tabs:  One for the snowflakes (you can see the instructions for that post here), one for the box, and the last one for the white decorative mat.
When the box cuts, it will look like the image above.  Since the box needed to be 6″ x 12″, you will need to snip the right edge of the paper to complete the cut.  Next score at 1 1/2″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/2″, and 5 1/2″ (all score marks will be made where there are vertical slices).  Turn your paper and create a score even with the long slice.  This will create your bottom of the box tabs.  Fold the tabs in and use a piece of tape to hold them together then decorate as desired!

Teacher gifts

5 Dec
Finding teacher gifts is always a challenge for me and one I enjoy!  Both of my kids are in multiage environments which means we have lots of teachers and interns to buy for so we are always on the look for budgeted gifts.  This year I found magnetic notepads that are 3 3/4″ x 9″ at Tuesday Mornings for $1.99.  You can find cheaper pads, even at the dollar stores, but I liked that these notepads had thicker paper and it was a bonus that each one already came with a ribbon wrap!  And you know what else Tuesday Morning has!?  They have 12×12 Momenta Christmas Textured Cardstock Pads which are PERFECT for this project because they have the same pattern on both sides of the paper!  One stop shopping, who doesn’t love that!
Start with a 12×12 double sided cardstock and score at 4″, 4 1/4″, 8 1/4″ and 8 1/2″. Turn your paper and score at 2 1/2″.  Cut up at the 4 1/4″ and 8 1/4″ to the 2 1/2″ score line and then cut along the 2 1/2″ score line to remove the two side pieces (keep the side pieces to make a tag!).  Your paper should look like this:
Fold at all the score marks.  Along the right edge, use a border punch to add a design.
Fold up the bottom flap, fold in the right edge, and then fold over the left edge and wrap up!  I used the ribbons from the notepads to tie on the tag and placed some pens on some of the packages too!
Cardstock:  Christmas Textured Cardstock Pads (Momenta)
Embellishments:  Chipboard and Stickers (Momenta)
Notepads and Ribbons:  3 3/4″ x 9″ Magnetic (From Tuesday Mornings)
Punch:  Border (EK Success) and Tag Maker (Creative Memories)
Pens:  R.S.V.P Clear Barrell (Pentel)
Glitter:  Glitz (P K Glitz)

Accordion Purse and Mini Book

6 Oct

By Jan Hennings

I simply measured the purse and cut the paper to fit.

Using my sewing machine, I sewed around the edges.

Punch circles to use as a closure on the front of the purse and add a string to close.

For the accordion album just add desired papers to the panels.

This would great to hold candies or other trinkets on the guest tables at a wedding.

This was super quick and easy so it wouldn’t take much time to create a large number of them.

Affix two flourish stickers to bucket.

Layer Shimmer and Shine sticker over flourishes.

Add gem to center of Sticker Seal and adhere to center of Shimmer and Shine sticker.

FUN Treat Holder

29 Sep

This is such a fun, cute, and fast project and the kids love them!

Just perfect for those special trick-or-treators!

Please note that this works with the type of gum package shown in the photo –

you will have to adjust for other brands/sizes as they are all so different.

1. Trim base cardstock to 2 ½” x 10” and score at 2 3/16”, 2 11/16”, 6 1/8”, 6 5/8”, and 9 5/8”.

2. Trim the mat cardstock to 2 ¼” x 9”.

Adhere on top of the base cardstock, starting at the opposite end of the small score line.

Fold on score marks.

3. Trim another piece of base cardstock to 2 ½” x 2” and border punch one side

of the 2 ½” length and adhere to the front of the box.

4. Trim a 2 ½” piece of ribbon and place at the top of the border punch piece.

5. Place Halloween Puffy sticker as shown in the photo.

6. To close the box, cut a small tab under the front flap, only going through the first layer.

Make a horizontal slit for the tab to tuck in to.

Mini album made from product packaging

By Dani Smith

Supplies: Double-sided open-stock cardstock (PA-1907 and PA-1911), beach Page Kit (PK-2111),

Alphabet stickers (ST-2398, ST-2039, ST-3190, ST-2561, ST-3191)

1) Gather your empty packages.

They don’t necessarily have to be the same size,

but it helps that they are at least the same width.

2) Take the product backing out of the plastic.

Measure them and then trim your double-sided cardstock to the same size.

You could also use 2 sheets of single-sided paper for this.

3) Decorate both sides as you wish to fit your needs.

Doodle and trim pictures, trim paper, add accents, etc.

4) Place your pages back into the plastic packaging. Put your pages in order.

5) Bind them all together using eyelets and tie ribbon through the eyelets.
